This trip is the epitome of an Authentic Adventure. We depart Queenstown via Arthurs Point, delve straight into gold mining history and head completely off the beaten track!
We have the option of a short 30min walk along the Shotover River to the Oxenbridge tunnel before heading towards a historic gold mining gorge road with an abundance of panoramic view points along the way.
This canyon road was built in the 1880s during the gold rush era as the Shotover River turned out to be one of the richest gold bearing rivers in New Zealand.
Once embarking on this breathtaking route, we will enlighten you on life in this era by sharing a range of heritage sites from the early settlers followed by morning or afternoon tea immersed in nature.
As we make our way back to Queenstown we have a range of activities for you to select from. This adventure promises outstanding natural beauty & a taste of life in times past...
